Dude, I am buying this, it’s too cute!

Perhaps I’m mad, but I recall something like this actually getting pitched, Batgirl as a young-adult fiction heroine. Or was that just wishful thinking on my part?

    Want ALL THE EPISODES, NAOW!

Um, I mean, I like it! Nice work!

No, but there was a (also dropped) pitch for a Lois Lane YA detective series making the rounds. . . Earlier in the year IIRC.

They both would’ve been awesome, but apparently DC was all “girls are icky, why do we want them reading us?”

Not the first rumbling! Feast on the awesomeness of Lois Lane, Girl Reporter:

This is that thing: http://deantrippe.tumblr.com/post/4021523420/lois-lane-girl-reporter (also immediately came to mind)

I think this easily falls into the category of “shut up and take my money!”

This looks amazing and I want it to be real.

Yes, that was it exactly, I knew I was close.
It’s s shame that DC (heck, more companies in general) aren’t trying to court more young girls into reading. And forgive me if I sound a bit gender-specific and non-”boys and girls can like the same things”-y, but A few books and products aimed at girls could do VERY well. Something by Colleen Coover, maybe?
I’d been saying for YEARS that Amethyst had all the makings of a young girls’ marketing juggernaut. The animated short seems to fit my vision exactly. The new comic version, while it does look promising, seems more aimed at an older audience, which seems like not the best use of the product.
I wanted that Supergirl – Adventures in the Eighth grade book to go over like a house afire, and sadly it just did okay. But that don’t mean stop trying.

I would commit to buying the first season on DVD right now if it would help getting this really made. It looks totally awesome.
