You Can Get an iPhone 5c for Practically Free or a Cheap 5s at Walmart Right Now

It looks like Walmart is getting a jump on selling older models of the iPhone for cheap when the iPhone 6 hits, and they’re not messing around.

Right now, you can get an iPhone 5c from Walmart for $0.97 with a two-year carrier contract with AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular or Verizon, according to Engadget. Other things you can get for less than a dollar: cheap and/or tiny gum, maybe a vending machine soda if you travel to 1995 to get it, things that don’t cost money. End of list. Considering you’re likely going to get a contract with your iPhone anyway, you really can’t beat that price.

The iPhone 5s is also on sale there for $79, which is only a bit less than Walmart’s regular $99 price but definitely a lot less than Apple’s own $199 price tag. (Though still not as impressive as the 5c literally being over 100 times less than Apple’s $99 cost.)

The sale only lasts as long as the supply, so go ahead and grab one if you’re not the kind of person who minds buying a phone under the looming specter of the next iPhone announcement that is likely to happen next month.
